The software was developed in the Netherlands and can handle complex DNA traces that have previously been difficult to interpret. These can be traces that have been inhibited by dirt, deposited by several people or that contain a small amount of DNA.

The software has been used in several investigations during the spring. Among other things, two suspects in a shooting in Hjulsta last year could be linked to the murder weapons, the radio reports.
