An elderly man in Malmö is forced to pay compensation to Malmö’s municipal housing company (MKB) because the district court has ruled that he or someone he hired has demolished and removed the kitchen in the tenancy, writes Hem & Hyra.
The man ordered a so-called kitchen renewal from MKB because he had problems with pests. The kitchen renovation was to consist of new kitchen doors, tiles and worktops, but when MKB’s craftsmen came to the apartment, it turned out that the entire kitchen was cleared of furnishings.
The man claimed that craftsmen from MKB had been at his home on an earlier occasion, but the district court judged that that explanation was not probable.
The man is sentenced to pay just over SEK 22,000 in compensation to the EIA and the housing company’s legal costs.
