The construction that has been going on since May last year will be resumed when the geotechnical investigation is completed.
– An investigation was made before construction began, but now we have chosen to do another so we do not encounter future problems, says Peter Gustafsson, site manager for YIT, contractor for the construction to SVT.
Various side jobs are done while waiting
It is the construction of the treatment plant’s steel frame that is now standing still, as settlements are thus discovered. But some work near the proposed treatment plant continues.
– Among other things, we are building an access road and foundation for gates. It was the work we would do anyway, so then we take the opportunity to do them now, we take advantage of the situation instead of standing still.
The geotechnical investigation, on the other hand, should not be something that affects the schedule for when the treatment plant is to be completed.
– I guess we will get an answer to the survey in two to three weeks. Or yes it is the hope, so the belief so far is that we will keep our original schedule. There will of course be a slight time lag, but at present I do not see any major delays, says Peter Gustafsson.
