Scientists from the Bristol University Aerosol Research Center in England, by measuring how long the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19 disease, survives in the air with the device they developed, announced that the virus lost 90 percent of its transmission ability in the first 20 minutes.
Scientists stated that the ability of the virus to be transmitted in the first 5 minutes is 48 percent and the most effective way to protect from the virus is a protective face mask.
DIFFERENT VARIANTS ARE SIMILAR
Scientists stated that they measured the activity of the virus in micro-droplets in the air between 5 seconds and 20 minutes in their studies and that the life of the virus in the air is similar for different Covid variants. It was stated that while high humidity air increases the survival of the virus, there is a higher rate of virus transmission from the closest person rather than the farthest person in an environment. Scientists stated that the scientific study has not yet been published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.
