The bombing of a theater in the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol in March was a war crime. Amnesty International draws that conclusion in a new report.
But it is still uncertain how many died in the airstrike. The victims are probably fewer than first feared, according to the organization.
In its investigation, Amnesty assesses that Russia apparently deliberately bombed the theater. “This makes the attack a war crime,” the organization writes. Amnesty demands that those responsible be brought to justice.
