Although Sony’s latest console has been out for just over eighteen months, it remains permanently out of stock. Blame it on the shortage of semiconductors that has hit the market for home consoles and graphics cards hard since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Where to find a PS5 in store?
If you are unable to buy a Playstation 5 console on the web, know that it is always possible to find one in the store. Sony’s console sometimes appears at French retailers, such as Fnac and Micromania recently, in the form of official Sony packs. Since the release of the Horizon Forbidden West PS5 bundle, copies of the console have appeared in stores. More discreet restocking than those on e-commerce sites, and therefore sometimes possible to find provided you show a little luck. This is Sony, which is trying to stem the supply problems of its latest console. The Japanese manufacturer has set up a waiting list system, and regularly organizes private sales for some of those registered on these lists. To participate, you will need to have an account. The French retailer offers consoles at relatively reasonable prices, count all the same around 650 to 750 € for a digital version (against 399.99 € in store). A purchase that therefore remains reserved for the most motivated customers, and offers to watch out for.
Why is the Playstation 5 out of stock?
It’s a question that deserves an answer. Why have we gone in a few years from a completely normal market to a console that has become a rare bird? The answers are multiple, and begin in 2020 with the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
