Martinez snapped a photo from her phone shortly after delivering her last meal for the night. The 60-year-old woman was found motionless in her vehicle, which was rolling at low speed off the coast of Glendale, Arizona. The teams that came to the scene for first aid determined that the woman died at the scene. Glendale Police Sergeant Randy Stewart said investigators found the woman was shot through the open window of her car. A witness stated that the woman’s vehicle was parked on the side of the road with a minibus next to her. The witness, on the other hand, said that he saw a man stop by the woman’s car for a short while just before returning to the van.

In post-incident investigations, police determined that just minutes before the woman died, she had taken a photo of a man sitting in her van, next to her vehicle. Rusty French admitted that it was himself in the photo when questioned by the police. But he could not explain why the photo was taken.
