A record crowd was expected and there was a record crowd in Sweden’s international match against Brazil at Friends arena in Solna. In the second half, the official audience figure of the match was announced: 33,218 spectators.
The national team’s previous audience record was 25,882 from an international match against Germany just over three years ago (April 2019) before the World Cup in France.
– That we can break an audience record again and get to play in front of so many fans before a championship, it is clear that it is a positive feeling to bring. We know that the support we get from home, but also on site in the stands, gives that little extra energy. Hopefully it gives a nice and good feeling that we can take with us, said Sweden’s left back Jonna Andersson before Tuesday’s match.
Tuesday’s training match, which is in progress, is Sweden’s last before the European Football Championship in England, which begins next week.
