It was in October last year that the police and some of his colleagues realized that they had forgotten their reinforcement weapons MP5 in the police cars. During questioning, the now warned police have stated that when he picked up the weapon, which was used by another colleague, he saw that it was hooked. The police must then have checked that there was no cartridge in the race, released the control handle and then decided to make the cartridge out.
Since there is no cartridge-out-of-the-box in the garage, the police fired the weapon down the hill, but a magazine was in the weapon and therefore it fired from a shot. A colleague got splinters in the calf, but no one was seriously injured.
Preliminary investigation was canceled
The Police Personnel Liability Committee writes in its decision that the police, by not noticing that a magazine was in the weapon, has negligently breached its obligations in the employment. The disciplinary sanction has been decided by the board as a warning.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office’s special prosecution chamber has previously investigated the incident, but then decided to close the preliminary investigation.
