Ukrainian refugees in Montfoort feel more and more at home

The families are doing well in Montfoort, but are also having a hard time. For example, Conventus – the name of the old bank building – is home to all families with at least one child with a disability. The families – mostly only the mothers with the children, fathers mostly stayed behind in Ukraine – hoped to be here only for a few weeks. Many now know that going back in the short term is not possible and that is difficult. For example, Svitlana is here with two daughters, but half of her head is in Ukraine, because her son has stayed behind to help defend his city. Svitlana: “The first weeks were very restless here, now things are going a bit better, but my thoughts remain in Ukraine”.
