It was early on Sunday morning that the 35-year-old woman drove to a hospital in Salzgitter, located near Hanover. Once in place, she told the doctors that she had been bitten by one of her rattlesnakes.
Her condition deteriorated shortly thereafter and the hospital was forced to order an antidote from an institute in Hamburg. In parallel, the police went out to the woman’s farm, where they found the large number of snakes.
Police say in a statement that specialists have found that the collection included several different poisonous species and that the snakes had not been placed in appropriate terrariums.
