In the U.S., the Supreme Court overturned a ruling by conservative judges yesterday that secured the right to abortion in the country for nearly 50 years.

Following the annulment of a decision known as Roe v. Wade, states in the United States now have the right to either allow or prohibit abortion. Immediately after the court’s ruling, nine states enforced the abortion ban. In addition to these from about ten states waiting (switching to another service) abortion ban in the near future.

Numerous world leaders have criticized the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court

The reaction of key world policymakers to the crackdown on abortion in the United States has been widely critical.

“I want to express my solidarity with women whose freedom is being undermined by the U.S. Supreme Court,” Macron said.

– My thoughts are with the millions of American women who are now losing their right to abortion. I can’t even imagine the fear and anger you’re experiencing right now, Trudeau said.

UN Secretary – General António Guterresin speaker Stephane Dujarric comment (switch to another service)decision critically and said restricting the right to abortion does not prevent people from having an abortion, but makes abortions more dangerous.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson briefly commented on the Supreme Court’s decision at a press conference during his visit to Rwanda. According to him, the decision is a “big step backwards”.

– My heart cries for American girls and women. The right to abortion is one of the most important fundamental rights. We must never compromise on the unrestricted right of women to decide on their own bodies and their future, Fredricksen wrote.

The Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez said (switch to another service) the decision of the Supreme Court is a reminder that no right can be taken for granted.

– Social achievements are always in danger of going backwards. Defending them must be everyday. Women must be able to decide freely about their lives, Sánchez comments.

– More than 50 states have promoted the right to abortion over the past 25 years. With today’s decision, the United States is sadly moving in another direction from that direction, Bachelet message to the United States.

The United States is going against the general trend of tightening abortion rights

By significantly tightening the right to abortion, the United States will join only a small number of states that have tightened their abortion laws first after adding the right to abortion. Such countries include Nicaragua, Poland and Russia.

The Mexican Supreme Court, for example, came to the opposite decision in September last year when the court decriminalized abortion throughout Mexico.

President of the Supreme Court of Mexico Arturo Zaldívar wrote (moving to another service)that “only in a few days has he been as proud of Mexico’s Supreme Court as it is today,” referring to different directions of the neighbors on the legality of abortions.
