Basta honors free media with its newsletter Chez les indes

The French media Basta! created a few years ago a free media portal aggregating more than a hundred independent sources. Add to it now Among the indies, a newsletter in the form of an editorialized press review. Interview with Ivan du Roy, co-founder of Basta.

In December 2022, Basta! will celebrate its 15th anniversary. This French information media, anchored on the left, deals with economic, ecological and social news. It is ad-free, free to access, and funded by its readers.

In 2016, Basta! created a Free Media Portalwhich brings together more than a hundred independent and reliable sources.

On May 6, 2022, the site launched a newsletter distributed every Friday which contains a press review of content published by these media. She is titled Among the indies and you can read Bellingcat, Blast, Inkyfada, Disclose, Guiti News, The comic magazineLes Jours, Médiacités, Médiapart, Reporterre, magazines Far West and XXIStreetPress, The Conversation or even Vert.eco.

At the microphone of The media workshopthe co-founder and co-editor of Basta! Ivan du Roy clarifies the convictions of its title in a context of media concentration. He explains the interest of the Free Media Portal and the relevance of the newsletter Among the indies : an email to establish a direct link with audiences, without being dependent on the algorithms of social platforms.
