Russian forces continue to advance in eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian army is now ordered to withdraw from the strategically important city of Sevierodonetsk. Russia is strengthening its grip on the twin cities of Lysytansk and Sievjerodonetsk on the Donets River. If these cities fall, it would give Russia an opportunity to push further into the Donbass region and even further west. Civilian trapped in chemical plant Serhiy Hajdaj, governor of the Luhansk region, which includes Sevierodonetsk, describes the situation as “hell” and says Ukrainian forces are facing constant shelling.
