The Obi-Wan Kenobi series culminates in a duel between Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) and Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor). They meet on a dark planet glowing lightsabers of the two, while boulders are thrown through the area and the ground is ripped out from under the feet of the combatants.
It’s arguably the most epic moment of the new Star Wars series on Disney+. They inspire even more than the spectacle soft nuances, when master and disciple meet in the dark. Especially in view of the end of Return of the Jedi, the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale comes up with an exciting note.

On Twitter, a Star Wars fan shares a nice observation: People close to Anakin hit each other twice one side of Darth Vader’s helmet. However, neither Obi-Wan nor Ahsoka in Star Wars Rebels manages to get to their former friend, who is now covered in scars. Only Luke, Vader’s son, can free the fallen Jedi in Episode 6 and give him redemption.

In an interview with Collider, Hayden Christensen gives a little insight into what it was like filming the big confrontation between Obi-Wan and Vader.
It was a very touching and important scene. I’m sure everyone was aware of that when they walked onto the set that day. It was a completely different feeling. Both for Ewan [McGregor] and as well for me. It was a very emotional experience and I think you can see that in the series too.
While there is much debate as to whether or not Obi-Wan Kenobi breaks canon, careful details like how Vader’s helmet was handled prove that old Star Wars tales carry through added context can become. Now, when Luke meets his father’s eyes for the first time, he continues a movement that Obi-Wan and Ahsoka initiated but never completed.
