Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy stated in an interview yesterday that they could work on Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, depending on the interest of the audience.
The idea for Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 seems to have stuck with LucasFilm and Disney. It was announced that the series, which was planned as a “limited series”, would consist of a single season with 6 episodes. However, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced in an interview yesterday that they will consider the idea of Obi Wan season two if there is strong interest from Star Wars fans.

However, according to both Kennedy and the director of the series, Deborah Chow, the interest of the fans is not enough. It was claimed that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which took place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, was linked to Jedi: Fallen Order. The series was conceived as a one-off project. However, Evan Mcgregor, who played Obi-Wan, and Hayden Christensen, who played Darth Vader/Anakin, are looking forward to being involved in a Star Wars project again.
It is stated that the production team of the series plans to shoot the second season only “if it is really needed”. This is not surprising either, because Obi-Wan’s finale tied all the events (with various surprises) before A New Hope. That’s why it’s a question of whether there is a “really” need for a second season of the show.
