– We have worked with hard priorities towards the right individuals in the right places, actually since 2015, and I think we are now starting to see the effect of this sustainable work, says Jörgen Thorén, local police area manager, to the radio.
A year ago, a policeman was shot to death in Biskopsgården, when he pulled out after an alarm about a shooting. And even though there are still shootings in the area, the police are now seeing a change.
A special model, which several police areas work according to, shows fewer criminal individuals in Biskopsgården today compared to two years ago. From 185 people to 152 people this year, where about 40 of them are in prison.
– We have quite a number of murders and attempted murders that have been solved. I think this shows the efficiency of the police that we have actually become very good at that work, says Jörgen Thorén to Ekot.
