Sarah Shellenberger, 41, living in the USA, and her husband, Scott, were not having children. That’s why they started in vitro fertilization by freezing Scott’s sperm. Sarah’s wife died in February 2020 of a heart attack. After Sarah lost her husband, she became pregnant using two living embryos that resulted from the treatments. She gave birth to her son Hayes in May 2021.
“ALL MY LIFE I DREAM OF BEING A MOTHER”
Planning to make a sibling for her son Hayes after giving birth to her, Sarah decided to use the second and final embryo as well. Sarah said, “I’ve dreamed of being a mother my whole life and I can’t imagine not continuing our journey. My husband and I struggled to get pregnant and more than anything, we wanted a family. ‘ she said.

“I hope and pray that this transfer is a success and brings our second miracle baby into our family. It would mean the world to give Hayes a sibling. I have a brother and I know how special a relationship this can be. I want more.”

“It’s very emotional, but also exciting,” she explains. I am so grateful to have the hope of a second living piece of my husband on the horizon, and I know he is with me as Hayes and I continue. I know that’s what Scott would want me to do, and I firmly believe he did everything from heaven to make it possible.”
