The U.S. Senate will hold a hearing on Wednesday on the possible admission of Finland and Sweden to NATO. The Senate Foreign Affairs Committee has already expressed its support for the countries’ NATO membership.

The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee will hold a hearing on Finland’s and Sweden’s NATO membership on Wednesday.
In addition, a group of 80 senators issued a letter in late May urging the presidential administration to speed up the approval process.
In the United States, the ratification process for new NATO members requires two-thirds support in the 100-seat Senate. The timing of the Senate vote has not yet been decided.
