A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on Walpole Island First Nation late Monday night.
Officers with the Walpole Island police and Lambton County provincial police, along with Chatham-Kent paramedics and Walpole Island firefighters, responded at 11:30 pm to a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle on Chief’s Road.
Lambton OPP said the individual was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin, police said.
A section of Chief’s Road had been closed for the investigation but had since reopened, police said.
