Catalonia, whose largest city is Barcelona, and the neighboring region of Aragon, where Zaragoza is the largest city, fail to agree and accuse each other of playing a political game and sabotaging the Olympic project.
“Without an agreement between Aragon and Catalonia, the candidacy for the Winter Olympics 2030 is blocked,” writes the chairman of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco, states the site Gamesbids.
Salt Lake City, Sapporo and Vancouver have entered into a dialogue with the International Olympic Committee on the 2030 Winter Games.
