A terrible attack was carried out on Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, USA, and 18-year-old Salvador Ramos killed 21 people, 19 of whom were students and 2 were teachers. After the incident, some eyewitnesses claimed that the police, who came to the scene, were waiting to intervene even though they entered the school. While this claim, which was on the agenda of the country in a short time, was investigated by the Ministry of Justice, images supporting the claim emerged.
HE UP THE COUNTRY
In the images that emerged, it was seen that several police officers with rifles and ballistic shields entered the school 19 minutes after the tip-off, but waited almost an hour to enter the classroom where the attacker was. Obtained security camera footage aroused the whole country.
REFUSES THE CLAIMS OF THE POLICE
In a statement made after the allegations, the police said that the needed equipment had not yet arrived at the scene and therefore they could not intervene. However, security camera footage obtained by the Austin American Statesman and KVUE showed that the attacker entered the school at 11:33, and was inside the school with the police equipment at 11:52. For this reason, he refuted the claims of the police.
RESEARCH CONTINUES
Previously, claims and reactions regarding the late intervention were shared by both the parents of the students, the teachers injured in the attack, and the eyewitnesses at the scene. While the investigation into the incident continues, it has been reported that the records of the phone calls and radios made with the security unit from the school at the time of the incident are now being examined.
