The investigation into the murder of Helena Andersson in Mariestad in 1992 is closed again, the Public Prosecutor’s Office states in a press release.
The man suspected of the 30-year-old murder has died, which led to the prosecutor Jenny Karlsson on Monday making the decision to close the investigation.
Helena Andersson was 22 years old when she disappeared in connection with a night out in June 1992.
Several people have been suspected over the years. In the autumn, a new suspect was arrested, a man in his 60s. He was requested to be detained, but was released on bail by the district court.
The suspicions have remained, but since the man recently died, the investigation is now closed.
