On Saturday night, Chatham-Kent police received a call from a passerby who observed a vehicle pulled to the side of the road in the area of North Street, where the male driver appeared unresponsive.
It was believed the man had been consuming alcohol and had pulled over to sleep, police said. After reportedly registering a fail on the screening device, he was taken to headquarters for breath tests and charged with operation while impaired.
The 59-year-old man was issued a 90-day license suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He was released from custody with a short date.
