Time of the legislative results: when will the results of the 2nd round fall?

Time of the legislative results when will the results of

TIME RESULT. No results can be communicated before the end of the ballot this Sunday, June 19, for the 2nd round of the legislative elections. But what is the precise time at which the results are communicated?

[Mis à jour le 19 juin 2022 à 14h32] See you at 8 p.m. this Sunday to consult the first national results of the 2nd round of the legislative elections 2022 ! But they will not be definitive: we only benefit from estimates from polling institutes, delivered in two forms. The first form consists of percentages. The second, in numbers of seats. These estimates are then refined as results from each city come in. Because, as a reminder, if all the polling stations open at 8 a.m. on election day, the closing times diverge. The polling stations can thus close their doors at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. or even 8 p.m., depending on the size of the municipality. In big cities like Paris, Marseille, Lyon, voters can slip their ballot into the ballot box until 8 p.m., which also explains why the results of the legislative elections are then refined throughout the evening of the election.

Partial results could however be communicated before 8 p.m. From the moment a constituency is “closed”, the prefectures could give first estimates of the result. For example, if the polling stations concerned closed at 7 p.m., then the counting closed at 7:30 p.m. In this case, an announcement of the estimates before 8 p.m. respects the neutrality of the vote, because no one is able to vote within the constituency. Deputies benefit from a specific statute which grants them particular rights and obligations. First of all, they benefit from diplomatic immunity, in order to preserve their independence, which takes two forms: non-liability which exempts parliamentarians from any prosecution for acts related to the exercise of their mandate and inviolability which regulates the conditions under which criminal action is exercised for acts unrelated to their function.

Also, MPs are subject to specific prohibitions. They may not receive any French decoration during their mandate or use their status for advertising purposes. Each deputy is subject to the obligation to declare his assets at the beginning and at the end of his term of office and must provide a declaration of interests and activities. Since 2017, MEPs must, at the start of their mandate, certify that they have complied with their tax obligations. In the event of failure to fulfill their obligations, they may be declared ineligible by the Constitutional Council for a maximum of three years and automatically resign from their mandate.
