The Swedish Customs increases control of small boats

The Swedish Customs suspects that drug smuggling in marinas is more widespread than they previously feared. Therefore, the organization must take more measures, reports TV4.

– We have seen that people do not just come in with small boats and load drugs. We have also seen people dumping things offshore and then the criminal plan is to pick it up with a smaller boat, says the Swedish Customs’ deputy head of control in southern Sweden, Oscar Lindvall, to the TV channel.

In addition to the measures, the Swedish Customs will also involve the smaller ports and inform the public about keeping a watchful eye on boats with extinguished lanterns and cars that show up at night.
