Tableware representative of a multicultural society
What she knew as a child is the source of her brand, in tribute to the values transmitted by her father.
” I went to department stores with my dad to choose the services. He swore by beautiful porcelain. It was obvious to him to have this beautiful porcelain which represented French culture. Porcelain is a material that fascinates me and it is above all the meeting, cohesion at the table. Everything the table has given me, all the values that we have been able to receive through this table, is really a whole. I grew up in these two cultures. I was born in France, in Lyon, African culture has always carried us. Being able to marry these two cultures, which make me what I am today, it could not be anything other than this project. “, says Absa Chay.
Originality and refinement on the table
Wax on the table is evidence of the uniqueness of two cultures, yet it took a lot of perseverance for Absa Chay to assert your style.
” When I started my prospecting for porcelain makers, many did not respond, many were suspicious of the project. Marrying Africa with porcelain, a product which is typically French, has been the cross and the banner to find a professional who is willing to work with me. In the end after seeing the result, they themselves were won over. Me, that reassured me in my project which is a real entrepreneurial adventure. It allows me to pay homage to my countries, my cultures and that is priceless “, concludes Absa Chay, founder from the brand Wax on the table.
