A whopping 18 new images were recently released for Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series. Some of them bring us closer to the Elven culture of the Second Age of Middle-earth, others do and with that mysterious hobbit precursors of the Harfeet trusted.
New Hobbits: How the series halflings differ from Frodo in The Lord of the Rings
We’ve known for a year and a half that Amazon is going to change the way we see the Hobbits. We will get to know the Harfoots (English: Harfoots), which JRR Tolkien in his Middle-earth mythology alongside the Starren (Stoors) and the Fallohides (Fallohides) as one of the three Primal hobbit tribes created However, before the small creatures from the eastern Misty Mountains settled in the west of Middle-earth and created the typical dens of Bilbo, Frodo, Sam and Co., they lived in secret.
At Empire, Lord of the Rings and Harfoot actor Lenny Henry explained Amazon’s series Hobbits in more detail:
we are a nomadic tribe. We move on together with the weather and the fertility of our seed. We have big ones caravans with wooden wheels and are good at hiding. Because people are bigger than us and bring trouble.
Even if the harfeet are not (yet) hobbits, despite their differences, they also have a few things in common with their later settled Shire descendants:
We are Tolkien’s typical little heroes and outsiders. Traditionally, the small people control in this world comedic at, but we may also unbelievable brave be. In this adventure we offer the full range of emotions and action.
The first Lord of the Rings series pictures of the harfeet also show that Amazon’s series hobbits not only have the short stature but also the frizzy hair in common with Frodo’s relatives. In which they apparently Leaves and nature jewelry wear.

That the harfeet other traditions than the hobbits have is also proven by this image, which is almost a little reminiscent of the rituals in the horror film Midsommar:

Not just hobbits: What do Amazon’s new Lord of the Rings pictures reveal about the other peoples of Middle-earth?
In addition to the revealed role of the Elvish ringsmith Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards), the new series photos also offer insights into the elvish sets and ways of life. For example, we see Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) being crowned by the Elf King Gil-galad.

In Amazon’s images, we see other Middle-earth races in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: the people Halbrand (Charlie Vickers), the dwarves Disa (Sophia Nomvete) and Durin IV (Owain Arthur) as well as one ice troll.
After The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, even Amazon’s Middle-earth can’t get enough of lookout posts with foresight, affording (from a perhaps Númenorean tower?) a view across the land and the gathering of Elves (Arondir) and Men (Bronwyn and Theo, played by Nazanin Boniadi and Tyroe Muhafidin).
Even a few new looks behind the scenes of the shooting, Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series has its new pictures ready:
After the first teaser trailer for the Lord of the Rings series was four months ago, Amazon will certainly soon be releasing a longer trailer with even more moving pictures. After all, the start of series production is on September 2, 2022 less than three months away on Prime*.
