The results of the first round of the 2022 legislative elections have been dissected since Sunday in an attempt to draw the conclusions of this first round nationally, but also locally, in the 577 constituencies of the territory. The map of the results of these legislative elections shows a political landscape similar to that of the first round of the presidential election two months ago, with a relatively balanced tripartition of the country. If we simply look at the nuances that came out on top in the first round, France is divided between Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s Nupes, La République en Marche, which finished tied nationally at around 25%, and the National Rally, third at less than 20%. The Republicans and the UDI manage to pass the 10% mark.
In the detail of this legislative map of France, Together! and LREM win by a short margin with 196 constituencies, ahead of Nupes at 187 and RN at 109. LR is in the lead in 42 territories and UDI in only one. The various left candidates (excluding Nupes) arrive in favorable ballot in 12 constituencies and the various right in 10.
The legislative map will change this Sunday, June 19 with the results of the 2nd round. The presidential party, which qualified in 416 constituencies (against 139 where it was eliminated in the first round) has more favorable projections than Nupes, which is present in 384 constituencies (against 179 where it will be absent). But the suspense is total to know if Emmanuel Macron will manage, two months after his re-election, to keep an absolute majority of 289 seats allowing him to pass his reforms, starting with that of pensions. The various institutes give the Macron camp within a range of 255 to 295 seats, when the left gathered under the Nupes banner is estimated between 150 and 210 seats. The RN is qualified in 208 constituencies (against 359) and should win in 15 to 20 constituencies, LR and the UDI remain in contention in 76 constituencies (against 434) and could win the majority. Reconquest!, the party of Eric Zemmour, will be totally absent.

In view of the second round of these 2022 legislative elections and awaiting confirmation of the official candidacies for this second round in mainland France, there are therefore 270 Nupes-Ensemble duels!, 107 Ensemble!-RN duels, 59 Nupes-RN duels, 25 duels RN-LR, 24 Nupes-LR duels, 18 Ensemble!-LR duels, 6 Nupes-DVG duels, 5 RN-DVG duels and as many RN-DVDs, 2 Nupes-DVD duels, only one Ensemble!-DVG duel and another Together!-DVD, but also 5 duels with a regionalist candidate, 4 with a UDI candidate, 4 with a “various center” candidate and only one with a sovereignist candidate, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (DLF) in Essonne. To these duels are added 8 triangular.

What were the results of the legislative elections in 2017?
The 2017 legislative elections offered a majority to the alliance formed around the new President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron. While 289 seats of deputies are necessary to obtain an absolute majority in the National Assembly, the LREM-Modem group had obtained 350 seats (308 for LREM and 42 for the Modem). The Republicans were content with 112 seats, down sharply from 2012 when the PS only saved 30 seats, 250 less than in 2012!
