Heat wave in Spain negatively affects life. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the air temperature was 43 degrees Celsius in Cordoba and 41 degrees Celsius in the cities of Badajoz and Taledo. In the city of Cordoba, thermometers showed 42.9 degrees yesterday.
In a statement made by the government, people were advised to stay at home and drink plenty of fluids. The streets remained empty as the people did not leave their homes unless it was compulsory due to the hot weather.
‘WORRYING’
Teresa Ribera, Minister of Ecological Transformation, stated that it is worrying that record temperatures are experienced in the country in a short time due to the heat wave.
SPAIN AGAINST RISK OF FIRE
All regions in Spain, except the region of Asturias and the Canary Islands, are on alert due to the risk of fire. It was stated that the said heat wave will affect other European countries in the coming days.
On the other hand, Spain has been under the influence of four heat waves in the last 10 months. In August last year, thermometers in Spain showed 47.4 degrees.
