According to Elisabeth Nilsson, investigator at the Wildlife Injury Commission, calculations of the strains that exist today show that the 10 percent that would then remain corresponds to between 30,000 to 40,000 wild boars.
– Then the damage levels will decrease and it is extremely important. For an individual farmer, the wild boar damage may mean that it is not worth continuing.
Elisabeth Nilsson also points out that wild boar accidents in traffic in Sweden are around 7000 – in comparison with Finland where they are about 50 and Denmark 0.
– So we are in a class of our own.
