The Grand Inquisitors return is becoming ever more likely

Attention, follow spoiler!

Obi-Wan Kenobi raises many questions regarding that Accuracy of Star Wars canon on. How does the events of the series connect to Episode 3? Does the story fit with the encounter between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan in Episode 4? And how on earth can the Grand Inquisitor die if he reappears later in Star Wars Rebels?

The last question in particular was hotly debated as the character’s death was shown very clearly in the new Star Wars series on Disney+. As Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 5 releases, actor Rupert Friend gives a crucial clue as to how his character despite the lightsaber blade in his stomach could have survived.

The Grand Inquisitor is a Pau’an, one of the humanoid species from the planet Utapau that made its debut in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. As a Pau’an, the Grand Inquisitor has two stomachs. As drastic as Reva’s attack looked: after a few hours in bubbling bacta tank the Grand Inquisitor might already be on his feet again.

With his brief interjection, Friend backs up recent statements from screenwriter Joby Harold, who earlier this month assured that Obi-Wan Kenobi would not break canon. So it’s entirely conceivable that in the 5th episode, Reva will be one of ghost from the past surprised who she thought was long dead. It remains exciting in the Star Wars universe.
