Today, June 12, 2022, Diablo 4 fans got a big surprise. You can now pre-register for a Diablo 4 beta on Blizzard’s official website. Many are now hoping that there will be a big announcement at the Xbox Showcase tonight.
How to pre-register for the beta? All you have to do is visit the official Diablo 4 website. There, right in the middle of the website, there is a large reference to the “pre-register”. If you click on it, you have to log in with your Battlenet account and agree to a license agreement.
What is this exactly for a beta? Nothing is known about the beta itself. We don’t know when it will start, nor on which platforms it will take place. However, Battle.net, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S logos will be shown as part of registration.
The internal tests at Blizzard have been running since April 2022. So there is a possibility that the first testers from outside will soon be allowed to run.
Registration alone gives a lot of hope to Diablo fans. The Xbox Showcase will take place tonight at 7:00 p.m. And since Microsoft announced in January that it would buy Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, there’s a chance that an announcement for Diablo 4 could also happen there.

Registration gives fans a lot of hope
Where does hope come from? On reddit and on Twitter, some users are irritated that early registration for the beta started today. Because there was no big new announcement for Diablo 4 and the start of the registration was not shared on social media either.
Many now expect that there will be a big announcement later today. They see the Xbox Showcase as the ideal stage for Diablo 4 – also because BlizzCon was canceled this year.
By the way, there have been rumors of Diablo 4 appearing at the Xbox event for a long time. IdleSloth84 posted a tweet back on June 10th saying he’s 99.874% confident Diablo 4 will share the release date at the Xbox event. IdleSloth is a well-known Xbox-themed leaker.
