The Marvel family at Disney+ continues to grow. After the adventures of Wanda, Loki, Moon Knight and others, one falls today new superheroine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Ms. Marvel is the name of the new series that you shouldn’t miss.

What is Ms. Marvel at Disney+ about?
16-year-old teenager Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) has Pakistani roots and lives in Jersey City, New Jersey. She lives here with her Muslim family, who make strict rules for her. Kamala is Gamer, fan fiction writer and huge admirer of the superheroine Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers. She raves about the adventures of the Avengers with her best friend Bruno Carelli (Matt Lintz), who has above-average intelligence and a part-time job at the convenience store Circle Q.
Kamala feels like an outsider because of her background and would like to be recognized by her classmates. But even at home she doesn’t feel understood. And then one day a mysterious bracelet grants her superhuman abilities. Inspired by her idol Captain Marvel, she takes it Names Ms. Marvel to maintain law and order on the streets of Jersey City. Kamala first has to learn who and what kind of superheroine she wants to be and whether she is even up to this great responsibility.
Ms. Marvel: What makes the MCU series so special
Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel is the Disney’s first female Muslim superhero. Her cultural and religious background is also reflected in the series in small and large details.
The new Disney+ series is not only characterized by its representation. Ms. Marvel offers entertaining, refreshing superhero adventures, as first reactions testify. Lead actress Iman Vellani is already being praised for her charismatic performance. Since her heroine Kamala is significantly younger than the previous Disney+ MCU stars, we can also look forward to a little variety in the stories. Ms. Marvel is more like Spider-Man than Wanda, Loki or Hawkeye.

Ms. Marvel is part of Phase 4 of the MCU, along with Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It is already known that the series will prepare the upcoming movie The Marvels. In it, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) will return – and her biggest fan Kamala will be there too.

Ms. Marvel is available to watch on Disney+ with a subscription starting today. Season 1 consists of six episodes that air every Wednesday.
The series was created by British-Pakistani comedian Bisha K. Ali, who previously worked on Loki. The opening episode is directed by a duo with plenty of action experience: Bad Boys for Life creators Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
