Another Leksand player signs NHL contract.
This time it is Nils Åman who travels to North America.
– He is a smart player, says Vancouver’s sports director Patrik Allvin.
Major changes in Leksand’s squad for next season are to be expected. The Dala club has lost several players, and is out in the player market to compensate for its losses.
Ready for the Swedish club
Among others, the trio Max Véronneau, Emil Heineman and Isak Rosén have signed a contract with an NHL club. Now it is clear that another Leksand player is making the same journey, and this time the tall center Nils Åman.
The 22-year-old signed last night on a contract with the Swedish club Vancouver Canucks – with Patrik Allvin as general manager and gets Elias Pettersson, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Nils Höglander as new teammates.
Played the World Cup with Tre Kronor
– Nils is a smart hockey player who plays with speed and has a strong work ethic, says Allvin about Åman to NHL.com and continues:
– He has a good two-way game and we look forward to seeing his continued development on both sides of the ice with Canuck’s organization.
Despite his young age, Nils Åman has three SHL seasons in his luggage. The previous competition year was the Swede’s points best with 14 points in 51 matches. The 22-year-old was also involved in playing the World Cup with Tre Kronor.
