After the opening of the Summer Game Fest with a major State of Play, the summer video game season continues with the arrival of conferences from Capcom, Xbox and Bethesda, and many others.
[Mis à jour le 7 juin 2022 à 12h13] E3 is canceled but the summer video game season is in full swing. Exhibitors are increasing the broadcasts of conferences despite the absence of a face-to-face event this year. The announcements are legion, and the excitement grows every day in front of the many new features offered by the various studios and publishers. After a grandiose State of Play that marked the opening of the Summer Game Fest, the other conferences are starting to align themselves on a well-defined program, which will culminate with the two upcoming Xbox / Bethesda and Capcom events. We detail the conference schedule.
State of Play
Summer Game Fest (starts June 9 at 8 p.m.)
We told you in the title, if E3 is canceled, it sheds a little more light for the Summer Game Fest. Geoff Keighley’s festival is back for a third edition, in this third year of the pandemic. Once again organized in a 100% digital version, this 2022 edition is supposed to be the moment to bring together different players in the video game industry in a huge multi-business event. The show, which will be one of the key moments of this “video game summer”, will be broadcast on Youtube, Twitch and in IMAX cinemas in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Of course, you will find more information on the official website of the Summer Game Fest 2022.
Future Games Show (Saturday June 11 at 9:00 p.m.)
It seems that the hosts of events dedicated to video games have spread the word. See you on June 12 also for the Future Games Show, the conference organized by the American magazine GamesRadar. You can find trailers and exclusive images of some of the biggest releases of the year, on console and PC. But you should know that Gamesradar has decided to reserve a substantial part of the event for more independent exhibitors and unique projects.
Xbox and Bethesda (Sunday, June 12 at 7 p.m.)
You’ve known this for a while now, but Xbox and Bethesda are now fighting under the same banner. And what better idea for these two industry behemoths than to team up for a major conference? Not really. The two companies have decided to give us an appointment on June 12, for a conference broadcast live on Twitch and Youtube. We expect the first images of the long-awaited space RPG from Bethesda, Starfield, the developer’s “most ambitious” project to date, but also of Fable 4, the sequel to the feared and formidable RPG from Xbox. Of course it will also be an opportunity for Microsoft’s console to show its muscles by unveiling some exclusive features.
PC Gaming Show (Sunday June 12 at 9:30 p.m.)
Of course, no video game party would be complete without a show exclusively for keyboard and mouse players, organized by one of the most influential newspapers in the industry. the PC Gaming Show is therefore scheduled for June 12, and will be an opportunity for some big titles to show some gameplay sequences, but also for smaller games and independent studios to tell us about their projects and present their creations. Of course, the PC game will be at the heart of this conference but not only, we will also find console titles as well as interviews with personalities and developers.
After the remarkable appearances of Resident Evil 4 Remake and Street Fighter 6 at Sony’s State of Play, Capcom is back by organizing its first conference called the Capcom Showcase. This broadcast will be exclusively reserved for the future of Capcom games, and remains highly anticipated, especially by fans of Resident Evil and Street Fighter. Indeed, the two licenses announced a lot of new things to us during the recent State of Play, and many players would like to learn more about the remake of Resident Evil 4 and the release of Street Fighter 6. Note that the broadcast will take place late at night, will last 35 minutes and will be broadcast live on the channels Youtube and Twitch official Capcom.
Xbox & Bethesda Showcase Extended (Tuesday, June 14 at 7 p.m.)
This is the surprise announcement of the last few days. In addition to its showcase in partnership with Bethesda, Xbox will offer us a second conference 48 hours later called the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase Extended. This 90-minute broadcast will allow the group to deepen the announcements of the first event (on Sunday) while unveiling new projects, perhaps a little more discreet. This does not prevent us from hoping to find big announcements there on the Xbox Game Pass and on the next exclusive Xbox Series.
