Released in 1985, Police Story is one of the classic action films in the filmography of Hong Kong martial arts legend Jackie Chan. The director and actor, who is known to have done all the stunts himself, had previously tried unsuccessfully to establish himself in Hollywood. Disappointed, he returned to Hong Kong and surpassed itself in terms of action and humor.
Police Story contains some of the most famous scenes from Chan’s career. The film is full of car chases, man-to-man fights and daring jumps. The action classic is crowned by a legendary fight in a shopping center in which Chan dislocated his back, among other things. Next to Drunken Master 2, Police Story is without a doubt one of the very best that Jackie Chan has filmed in the field of action.
