A tour of 10 kilometres designed to break records, a cast of top international elite athletes and a retro atmosphere that evokes the origins of running. With these credentials Madrid Vintage Run by TotalEnergies promises to be a great sports festival on Sunday morning. With 6,000 participants at the starting linethe test organized by AD Mapoma offers a spectacular layout that runs through many of the main roads of the city, as Bravo Murillo, Santa Engracia, Alberto Aguilero or the Paseo de Camoens. The starting point will be Castile Square and the finish line will be located at the Puente del Rey, on the banks of the Manzanares.
The Vallehermoso Stadium, an emblematic place for athletics fans in the capital, hosted the presentation of the event this morning. He has attended the event Alberto Tomé, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Community of Madrid, who pointed out that “sport is always a tool for social change for Madrid due to the values it transmits and this race in particular, due to its style, is a great attraction for young people. The city is proud to have events such as the Madrid Vintage Run by TotalEnergies”.
For your part Alicia Martín, General Director of Sports of the Madrid City Councilassured that “I love this race, I already participated last year and this time I will aspire to my personal best, but the important thing, as always, is to have fun. A luxury poster
They will attend the Madrid event many of the best national athletes of the moment, so the top positions on the podium are expected to be disputed. In the male category, the names of Tony Abbey (national distance record holder), Jesus Ramos (current champion of Spain in the 10km en route), the local athlete Fernando Carro or the national marathon record holder Ayad Lamdassem. They will all try to overcome to the group of Africans who arrives in Madrid willing to achieve his best times: Yasin Haji Hayato, Weldon Lagat, Philemon KiplimoAdeladlew Mamo, Mark Lomuket, Bernard NgenoJoel Ayeko, Samson Amare and Robert Keter.

While, Azucena Diaza runner from Madrid, indicated that “on Sunday we have a unique opportunity to shine I only think about giving everything and reaching the goal. In addition, I want to make a call to the residents of Madrid to take to the streets and contribute to the great atmosphere of the race”.
Vintage shirt, bib number and medal
Besides for his ultrafast tour and certified -the marks achieved by the participants serve to accredit time in other races-, Madrid Vintage Run by TotalEnergies stands out for its festive character. And it is that, with the idea of reliving the eighties and the beginnings of this sport so popular today, participants will receive a vintage-style jersey and bib number in their runner’s bag. Upon reaching the finish line, they will also be presented with a finisher medal according to the ‘retro look‘.
Furthermore, as pointed out Pedro Rumbaodirector of the event, Madrid Vintage Run by TotalEnergies is also a proof of supportive charactersince the race contribute financially to the social cause of MAPOMA in this 2022: finance an exoskeleton for NIPACE, a non-profit foundation for children with cerebral palsy.
Throughout Friday and Saturday the bib delivery at the MAPOMA RUN Center, and already on Sunday, starting at 9:00 in the morning and in four waves, this second edition of Madrid Vintage Run by TotalEnergies will be held.
