It’s been over a week since Milan’s league gold.
Now the teammate talks about Zlatan’s big role off the field.
– It would have ended differently otherwise, says Fikayo Tomori.
It has been more than a week since Milan broke its over ten year long gold drought in Serie A, and won the series. A wild celebration broke out in the red-black parts of Milan – which is still going on.
Shelves “Ibra”
One of the more prominent players in Milan’s league win was the Englishman Fikayo Tomori. The midfielder joined the club last winter and has been hugely praised for his efforts since his arrival.
He has been a completely regular player, and has really been a big reason for Milan’s success on the pitch. Tomori is currently on a national team assignment with his England, and Milan’s series victory is still a hotly debated topic.
And of course, the midfielder talks about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s enormous importance during the golden season, and how important the Swede was despite the fact that he did not play as many matches in the spring.
“Ended differently otherwise”
– If he (Ibrahimovic) was not in the squad, some times when we were down at half time or did not play well would have ended differently, he says to The Independent and continues:
– He always talked before matches, went back and forth, talked, talked, talked… “make sure to do this”, “when this guy gets the ball do so”. Even when he was not playing, he talked like he was going to play and motivated everyone.
Fikayo Tomori is not alone in talking about the great significance of “Ibra” for Milan. There are many who have lifted the Swede to the skies for his leadership off the field – and it just shows how enormously appreciated “Ibra” was, and important, for Milan’s gold.
