The social network could very soon offer a “Clear mode” which deactivates the display of the various action buttons to provide better immersion in the videos.
You may soon be able to scroll on TikTok in perfect immersion. The platform has just launched a test with a handful of users of a new display mode that removes all action buttons and other comments to make room for content. “Clear mode” is the name of this new feature which allows, when activated, to suppress the display of the user name of the author of the content, the associated comment, the subtitles as well as of the audio track used. This display mode would also allow in some cases to remove all action buttons such as likes, access to comments or the video sharing button.

Platform users lucky enough to be able to test this novelty can activate it by accessing the video options after a long press on the screen. A “Clear mode” function is then offered just below the “Add to favorites” option and allows you to enjoy the content published on TikTok without any distraction. This feature would thus make it possible to reveal certain content that is sometimes hidden by the interface elements of the application. TikTok has not yet given more details about this novelty and has not confirmed whether the feature will be deployed on a larger scale on its service.
