New York Rangers’ Youth Chain Kaapo Kakko–Filip Chytil–Alexis Lafrenière played a key role as the New York Rangers fought a 6-2 victory over reigning champion Tampa Bay Lightning.
The first batch ended exactly 1-1. In the middle of the match, the situation was 2–2, but then the Rangers went their way.
Kakko did a strong preliminary job for Chytil’s winning 3–2 hit. The Finnish striker protected the puck well at the corner of the goal and fed the goal in front of the forgotten Chytil, who certainly finished. Chytil, 22, struck again five minutes later with the defender K’Andre Millerin from the cross feed.
Artemi Panarin increased Rangers ’lead right at the start of the third installment. Mika Zibanejad finished the final scores to 6-2.

Rangers goalkeeper Igor Shestjorkin was the guarantor of victory. Tampa Bay scored 39 times per goal, five times more than the Rangers. The Russian, who is nominated as the best goalkeeper in the NHL, defeated 37 times in the match and was left with only two to two hits. In the third set, there was no goal behind Shestjorkin, and the Rangers escaped to a 6-2 win.
Shestjork have now won seven home games in the playoffs. The same has been achieved, among other things Tuukka Rask, Patrick Roy and Dominik Hasek. Eight consecutive victories have been able to Jonathan Quick, Chris Osgood and Martin Brodeur. The longest home winning streak, nine matches, is Marc-Andre on Fleury for the year 2008.
Tampa Star Goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevski did not reach the level of his countrymen. He blocked 28 shots out of 34. Shestjorkin’s rejection rate was 94.9, while Vasilevsky’s was 82.4.
The Rangers lead the game with a win of 1-0. Four wins are required for the Stanley Cup Final. The teams will meet next early early Saturday. Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers will play in second place.
