The speed limit is raised to 90 again on the Nissastigen

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Since 12 May, the higher speed limit applies.

– The government approved the appeal for the reason that it was such a long distance that had a reduced speed limit that it had too negative an impact on travel time and thus accessibility, says Sandra Nordahl, unit manager within transport networks for national planning at the Swedish Transport Administration.

It is unusual for the government to approve this type of appeal and it has only happened three times before. The Swedish Transport Administration insists that the design of the road is best suited for 80 kilometers per hour.

– The best way to reduce the risk of meeting accidents is to separate the road with a center railing. On roads without a center railing, other efforts are needed to create the safe meeting. The right speed is a prerequisite for reducing the number of people killed and injured in traffic. We now need to review how we can continue to work to achieve improved road safety on the route based on the government’s decision, says Sandra Nordahl.
