Since January 1, contraception is free for women up to the age of 25 inclusive. Which contraceptives? What acts?
The Minister of Health Olivier Véran had announced it at the beginning of September 2021, contraception for women is free up to 25 years (included) since January 1, 2022. Until that date contraception was free for 15 to 18 year olds . since the year 2013.

What is included in this support?
- Laboratory tests necessary for contraception, once a year
- Placing the contraceptive
- Changing or withdrawing the contraceptive
- The consultation (with doctor or midwife) allowing the implementation of the contraceptive

The extension of this coverage was motivated by “the decline in the use of contraception, often linked to financial reasons”, according to the government. 3 million young women are affected by this measure.
