Nieuwegein – The two directors of a wholesaler in Nieuwegein who supplied all possible items for growing cannabis will go to prison for a year if it is up to the Public Prosecution Service. According to the Public Prosecution Service, it has been proven that they knowingly supplied products for professional and large-scale hemp cultivation for many years through their wholesaler HPG and grow shop Het Groeipaleis. With this, the two Nieuwegeiners would have made a profit of about 10 million euros in the past 3.5 years, with a turnover of 100 million euros. The Public Prosecution Service has asked the court to confiscate all assets that the two have amassed with their trade. In addition, they would also have to pay the maximum fine of 81,000 euros.
