In a few days, the big GO Fest 2022 will take place in Pokémon GO. So that you are well prepared for these two event days, we have summarized 6 important tips for you that you should consider before the event.
When does the GO Fest take place? The GO Fest 2022 runs on June 4th and 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. However, if you want to use all the content of the event, you need an event ticket, which you can buy in the in-game shop. This costs around 17 euros once, depending on the shop.
6 preparations you should make before GO Fest 2022
The GO Fest 2022 is already in the starting blocks and will again bring you numerous spawns and raids. So that you are well prepared for the event, we have summarized 6 useful tips below that you should use before the event starts.
1. Makes space for important items
Throughout the GO Fest, you’ll have the opportunity to encounter numerous Pokémon. Milza in particular should be of great interest to most coaches. For this reason, you should have enough items with you so that it does not escape you. Therefore, create space in your item bag for the most important items.
In addition to balls that you need to catch, you should also think of the following items:
Raid Passes: If you play with a ticket to the GO Fest, you will receive up to 9 free raid passes on both days, which you can use on site. However, if you want to secure a dazzling Milza or one of the legendary monsters, you should definitely secure one or the other (long-distance) raid pass.
Berry: Depending on the Pokémon, golden raspberries, silver pinapberries or normal pinapberries are also suitable for catching. On the one hand, these help you to ensure that the monsters stay in the balls better, and on the other hand, you get double the number of candies with the (silver) pinap berries.
Revives, Potions and Smoke: Also, to revive your best attackers in Pokémon GO, it’s a good idea to have enough Top Revives and Top Potions. In the wild, you can use smoke to attract additional monsters. You don’t need any other items for this event and you can generously sort them out.
2. Collect Pokeballs
Of course, you need heaps of balls to catch them on the two event days. The event lasts a total of 16 hours. Especially on Saturday, June 4th, you will meet numerous wild Pokémon during the four different habitat hours.
If you want to play the full time, you should save at least 1,000 balls. Above all, the super and hyper balls are particularly important, so that you can catch monsters with high WP a little easier.
Finally, during the event, you should always refresh your supply of balls. However, pay attention to the global challenge. In the past, for example, there were tasks in which a certain number of gifts had to be opened.
How to get balls: The easiest way to get Balls is to regularly spin the Photo Discs at PokéStops and Gyms. You can also secure balls by opening presents. So it makes sense to use the days leading up to the event and look at the presents every day. For more ways to farm balls, check out our related article:

By the way: In the week from 05/30/2022 to 06/06/2022 you will also receive 20 Poké Balls and 10 Super Balls as well as 5 Pinap Berries and 3 Knursp in the event box for one Poké Coin. This box also offers you the chance to collect balls.
3. Sort out Pokemon
The same applies to your Pokémon storage as for your item bag. If you want to catch a lot of monsters during the GO Fest, you should sort them out thoroughly before the event starts. So you don’t have to spend the precious event time sorting your monsters.
The best way to do this is to use the in-game search function. By entering “0*, 1*, 2*”, which is already a suggestion in the app, you can sort the monsters according to their strength. This will only show you Pokemon with a maximum of 2 stars.
If you want to sort and send Pokemon during the event, you can also add the “Alter0” criterion to your search function. This will only show you monsters that you have received over the past day.
If you want to take full advantage of the event time, you should have at least 500 free slots in the Pokémon storage for the first few hours.
4. Check technology and food
It is important to check the equipment in advance, especially for trainers who will be out and about all day. In addition to a fully charged smartphone, you should definitely have an additional power bank and a charging cable with you. Don’t forget to charge your power bank properly beforehand, so that the battery doesn’t run out on the way.
On the GO Fest weekend, it should also be warm in many parts of Germany. So take enough drinks with you and think about something to eat. Then you don’t have to organize anything along the way.
5. Plan route
In order to be able to catch as many Pokémon as possible, it is best to move around. Then the smoke is much more effective directly. So that you don’t wander around aimlessly, you should think about a route in advance.
Note that you will also pass enough PokéStops and Gyms along the way so that you can spin new items. But these points are also important to be able to participate in raids or to meet additional Pokémon.
In addition, it is best to choose a place that you already know. So you don’t lose any time on site to get your bearings first.
6. Raid appointments
There will be some interesting raid bosses again on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon, which can be found in the level 5 raids on Saturday, and Milza, which you can face off in the level 1 raids on both days, there will be another raid on Sunday. give boss.
It is not yet officially known what that will be. However, in their latest trailer for GO Fest, Niantic shows the Ultra Beast Anego, which is a completely new type of monster. It is therefore possible that you can meet this specimen for the first time on Sunday.
Above all, the raids against the legendary Pokémon can hardly be done alone, which is why you should arrange to meet up with friends beforehand. So it’s best to think about which raids you want to do together in advance. Alternatively, you can invite other players with the help of long-distance raids or take part in raids in other parts of the world yourself.
In order to defeat the Pokémon as quickly as possible, it is also advisable to rely on the best counters in each case. So check in advance which of the monsters you have and, if necessary, power them down or change the corresponding attack. So you can start your raids for the GO Fest without long preparation.
