He joined the club in 2015.
Emil Forsberg has now been named RB Leipzig’s greatest player of all time.
– He outshines everything, writes the German newspaper Bild.
Emil Forsberg has in recent years been one of Sweden’s biggest football stars. The Swede has been responsible for enormous achievements in both the club and national team, and has, among other things, played Sweden in a World Cup quarter-final.
First title
Throughout his career abroad, the Swede has lived in German RB Leipzig, where he came in the winter of 2015. There he has been involved in taking the club to the Bundesliga, and then established his Leipzig to a top team in the German top league.
They have challenged the great Bayern Munich and other top teams for the league title, and have come a long way in the international cup game. And just a week ago, Emil Forsberg was involved and won RB Leipzig’s first title in history when they took home the German Cup.
“Outshines everything”
Now Emil Forsberg gets another reason to celebrate. The German newspaper Bild has listed the 50 best players in each club in the Bundesliga, and at RB Leipzig, the Swede takes first place.
“Forsberg outshines everything: he is a fan favorite, a role model and the player who scores the important goals,” the newspaper writes as motivation.
With his first place, Forsberg is ahead of other players such as Liverpool star Naby Keita and Chelsea striker Timo Werner.
