Restoration View of Amersfoort finished painting on display again in

The painting shows the cityscape of Amersfoort in the 17th century. The canvas, painted in 1671 by Mathias Withoos, is a panorama measuring 207.5 x 427.5 cm. The master painter made the artwork on behalf of the then city council. His student Caspar van Wittel may have contributed to this. Withoos is internationally known for its sweeping cityscapes and still lifes with rich details.
