Brantford Police are asking anyone who witnessed an early morning hit-and-run Sunday to come forward with information.
At about 2:30 am, police said a 21-year-old woman was hit as she was walking near Market Street and Chatham Street.
A vehicle, said to be a gray SUV driven by a man who had a female passenger, sped away without stopping to offer assistance.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police suspect the vehicle involved will have front-end damage, including a broken headlight.
They urge anyone who saw the collision or may have footage of the incident to contact Const. B. Lee at 519-756-7050, ext. 2820 and remind the public that failing to remain at the scene of a collision is a serious offence.
Brantford Police are urging the driver and passenger to come forward.
