He died at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a heart attack earlier in May, according to his wife Sian Hopkins.
Hopkins played about 130 film and television roles during his more than 50-year career. He was perhaps best known for his roles in the Oscar-nominated prison drama “Midnight Express” and as a gang leader in George Lucas’ “Last Night with the Gang”.
He made the breakthrough in Sam Peckinpah’s “The Wild Gang” in 1969 and that was where he cemented his place as a frequently hired film villain. He also appeared in TV series such as “Dynasty” and “Charlie’s Angels”.
Bo Hopkins turned 84 years old.
