31 people died in a stampede at a charity event held in a church in Nigeria.

A charity event for the needy was held at the Kings Assembly church in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, in the state of Rivers. 31 people lost their lives and 7 people were injured in the stampede that broke out during the food distribution. After the stampede in the church, many first aid teams were sent to the region, and the injured were treated at the hospital.
Rivers State Police Spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko stated that many people came to the church to buy food in the early hours of the morning, and said, “Even though the door was closed, the crowd tried to forcibly enter and there was a stampede.” (UAV)
